Top Gear will be known by his new official show name, "Jotunheimen's Top Gear 82" for the 2013 competition season!
He's enjoying the warm weather and sun in Wellington, and has started to school second level shoulder ins and counter canter after 6 months in training! He's a super smart and willing horse, who's capable of doing FEI dressage.
He's still for sale, and is in full training with Maat, who is a USDF gold medalist, for dressage.
TG has started to settle in to life in south Florida, starting with a new clip job. He wasn't too sure about getting clipped, but he's a good guy and let us do it anyway. He's in Wellington for some dressage training before going to Ocala for spring eventing!
He's still not sure what the big deal is...what a horse (and he's a stallion!)
Today Chamonix SSH became a real horse! He has been backed, and was a very good boy! Unfortunately no photos since Cronan was holding him, and I was the guinea pig doing the backing. I've owned Chammy since he was 6 months old, so its been a long journey so far for us, and today was certainly a special day in our relationship.
He had been well prepared over the past year for this moment. He has a very good mind especially for a 3yo stallion, and i suggest anyone looking for a nice youngster with a good temperament consider a horse from Seguin Sporthorses (www.seguinsporthorses.com), who bred Chammy. Lisa and David breed to produce versatile youngsters with good minds. Chammy is well on his way to becoming a dressage superstar!
Top Gear has arrived at our Florida farm! The trip was almost 24 hours, but he traveled in style in a box stall in our 4 horse. He's kind of a nervous guy in new settings, so I'm hoping he doesn't lose weight from the trip. A typical OTTB, he's a hard keeper.
